“Spaghetti western” masquerading as film noir ………
“Farewell My Love” is nothing more than stylish nonsense, with a revenge plot seemingly lifted directly from the “spaghetti western”, “Once Upon a Time in the West”. There isn’t one interesting character in this entire movie. Wait a minute, maybe that is because there isn’t any character development in the entire movie. What it does have are annoying accents, especially from Ed Lauter and Robert Culp, annoying voice overs, annoying talk about things we already know, and annoying cartoon-like violence. In addition there are Russian and Irish stereotypes on parade that just come across as silly. Everything about the revenge plot is totally contrived, and totally unbelievable. – MERK
