Watch: 神様のカルテ 2011 123movies, Full Movie Online – There is a degree of realism when a professional in the field writes about his vocation and such is the case here. Adopted from a novel written by a doctor and set in Nagano, doctor Kuriharai is overwhelmed by the number and variety of patients he has to see due to a shortage of physicians where he practices. He aspires to work somewhere more convenient, specialize and see more of his wife, but faces a dilemma many other doctors experience. What will happen to his patients should he move on?.
Plot: Dr. Ichito Kuriharai (Sho Sakurai) works at a clinic in Nagano Prefecture. He rarely has any free time due to the clinic’s shortage of doctors and the constant influx of patients. Ichito even sometimes diagnoses patients out of his area of speciality and sometimes goes days without sleeping. He hopes to work at a major hospital where he can get more free time to spend with his wife Haruna (Aoi Miyazaki) and also specialize in his field of study. However, Ichito is also reluctant to add to shortage of doctors at the clinic and break his relationships with the patients. One day, Dr. Ichito Kuriharai clears out the belongings of a terminal cancer patient who passed away. During this time, he discovers a letter made out to him thanking him for the care he provided to her, even though he could not cure her sickness. Dr. Ichito Kuriharai then has a revelation about the medical chart he keeps in his hand – filled with personal observations and concerns …

In His Chart starts off slowly and almost fall off its own rails, before smashing all the right buttons to engage the audience and finishes extremely strongly. Such is the pacing of the film, but once it grips you, it is likely to stay with you. The film talks about a relevant dilemma that all young medical professionals will eventually face – a decision about which direction to take. In a way it is relevant to everyone, as working life is universal and every career choices we make will ultimately question ourselves about whether to follow your passion and heart or the wiser and more successful choice. Director Yoshihiro Fukagawa deals with the notion of loss, life and hope in the most simplistic fashion and while Aoi Miyazak is competent in her role as the young doctor’s wife, one would have thought that a little more insight or development into her character would certainly enhances the film. Still, there is a lot of smile about this film, as it does eventually engages you, affect you and touches you. It is a kind of film that grows onto you and before you realise it, you have already bury yourself into it. If you can ignore the at times uneven and slow pacing, In His Chart is extremely well-meaning and warms to the audience by finishing strongly. It is by no means a perfect endeavour, but as film that provides an insight into the stress, the difficulty of constantly dealing with loss in the medical profession, In His Chart does well and could have been a lot worse…
