This is the final straw for his spouse Noluthando who, fearing a fall in her standard of living, abandons her marriage, carrying their kid Lerato together with her. Thami is desperate to sustain a connection with his daughter, although Noluthando does all within her power to make sure that Thami is refused access to Lerato. After exhausting all famous paths, and desperate to be reunited with his kid, Thami kidnaps Lerato in college, planning to flee Johannesburg to get Kimberley from bus. This is a ill-conceived movement which angers Noluthando and sets him on a collision course with the legislation. Thami’s activities put his lifetime, that of Lerato along with their fellow passengers at risk and contributes to a high-stakes hostage position on the bus.
