She realizes at the wedding of her another best friend Zeynep that she has been leading a life she never wanted to. She decides to start a new life from the following day and quits her job and parts with her boyfriend. To celebrate her decision she goes out with Didem at night. Having been drunk, Esra finds herself in someone’s car and in some stranger’s arms at the end of the night. Esra and Didem will surprisingly come together with the men they met that night again..
Plot: Bored with her life and inspired by a friend’s wedding, Esra quits her job and dumps her boyfriend, leading to a series of romantic misadventures.

Fluff, but entertaining fluff nonetheless.
OK, I was dragged to watch this by my wife (a trade-off for when I forced her to sit through Yahsi Bati). Admittedly, it was a lot better than Cem Yilmaz’s disaster and I did enjoy it.

In “Romantik Komedi”, we have three girls living together. One is hopelessly trapped and pines for something new. Another is a ditzy partygirl who makes all kinds of crazy pronouncements. The most normal one of the three gets married and this causes the other two to rethink their life trajectories. They meet two men and fall in love, but then you have to have some complications thrown into the mix. This comes in the form of a not-so-nice lady who has her eyes set on one of the Prince Charming to-be’s. Not a particularly revolutionary story, but its got charm, its cute and its quite witty. If you are into “Sex and the City”, “Desperate Housewives” or anything like that, you’ll love this.

Utterly disappointing
Romantik Komedi is a solid proof that a good cast does not guarantee a good movie. An utterly ordinary plot and Sinem Kobal’s horrid performance grads the whole cast down, leading to a low quality film. The excellent performance by Gurgen Oz and the quality acting by Engin Altan Duzyatan sadly do not help enough to save this movie. I’d expected at least a mediocre scenario; however, I ended up wasting a good 110 minutes watching cliché pick up lines, typical characters and a boring, forced flow which become even worse due to the very sloppy directing. More disappointingly, the movie gets only more and more filled with clichés toward the ending, so much that the last 1/3 is pretty much unbearable. But I did keep watching, with the tiny bits of hope that an original ending could help. Unfortunately, that didn’t happen. All in all, I wouldn’t recommend this movie to anyone.
