Alone in the what?
I played the games, and i always thought, that they would be amusing horror movies..long before Dr Boll started to produce all that trash. All of them, every single game calling itself “alone in the dark”..take place at night, and hey..you were a-l-o-n-e…

So what kind of movie have we got here? Without any connection to part one, though there was an open ending with carnby (slater) being attacked by some kind of monster, this new “masterpiece of German wanna-be-movie makers” has nothing, i repeat nothing to do with part one…

what we get is some weird witch story..about a crappy looking knife..and some rotting b- or c-movie actors like ralf -i want to be like arnold- möller. there’s no story..believe me, and if there were one you wouldn’t like to follow it.

but: there are some amusing elements to be found in alone in the dark: so, slater (poor guy lost all his reputation after his boll engagement)has converted to (wtf?) rick yune..the guy from “die another day” or “fast and the furious”..so why did they take an Asian actor? 90 percent of this pile of **** is shot at daylight..so why do they call it “alone in the dark”?? but for god’s sake there’s even more things to tell about this disaster..but it would waste your time reading it as it were a waste of time to write it down..

there is no reason to watch “alone in the dark2”..even for trash freaks!

A GOOD LITTLE SUPERNATURAL B-MOVIE WITH A COOL CAST.
Alone in the Dark 2 is a fun little Supernatural Thriller with a good little cast & i enjoyed it, it looks like a movie & was actually filmed on film which was very rare back then, & even more rare now it’s almost extinct, it’s all digital now only “Tarantino” still uses film that I’ve heard of!!!

Also the film looks very good with good use of colour & a very slick look with lots of blue & green, a very cool opening actually with a view of new york city & central park, then we go down to central park where we meet 3 witch hunters running from the old Hag, it’s very cool.

The first film was just ok, not great but not as terrible as all those way over the top reviews destroying it was saying, as there’s alot of much worse films out there!!!

The music is really good, it’s eerie & full of suspense & this little B-movie actually has a strong creepy atmosphere & feels like one of those rare Horror gems you find on t.v in the middle of the night, good solid film.

“Alone in the Dark 2” really has a good spooky atmosphere & very cool B-movie cast with Lance Henrikson, Danny Trejo, Bill Mosley, Ralf Moeller & Michael Pare. Admittedly some have very small parts such as Trejo & Pare but it’s nice seeing these B-movie actors in a cool little Genre film, the supernatural creature they must battle is an ancient witch they simply call “The Hag” & she’s done really well & actually scary looking, the movie is well made for a low-budget straight to dvd Horror,but the main thing is it’s entertaining!!!

Yes Alone in the Dark 2 is way better than the first film & has No connection to it at all, it’s a stand alone movie & even the main character “Edward Carnby” is played by someone different this time by Rick Yune instead of Christian Slater so it’s all different & a much better movie.

“RICK YUNE” is ok as the lead but that’s about it as he really didn’t do alot to be honest & i enjoyed the others from the cast much more, like Lance Henrikson & Danny Trejo who has a tiny part but it was cool seeing him on the good guys team for once & as a witch hunter named “Perry” carrying a pump action shotgun how could i not like his little role?

Also i really enjoyed the “SIEGE” aspect/scene of the film when the witch attacks the big old farm house with everyone inside armed with guns, they also have a very cool huge room sized cage with special electric fensing around it full of lights, as the “hag” hates light & it’s a really cool scene, I’ve never seen anything like that it’s a cool idea with the good team inside the protected cage & the witch not being able to get to them unless she cuts the power (she does lol), it was a great scene & my favourite part of the whole movie.

This film makes for good late night entertainment & i genuinely enjoyed it & will watch it many more times!!!

Just wish the always Awesome “Danny Trejo” had a bigger part!!!
