An Empowering Film
Compared to Cinema’s past, Women definitely have a much stronger and more serious presence in movies today. But it isn’t completely equal from men and women yet. That’s why films like this are important. Me, as a woman, definitely felt very emotionally inspired by this picture. To, for a change, not picture the female protagonist as some helpless ditsy girl was truly refreshing. The higher message is what really attracted me to this movie. But that still does not get rid of the fact that the rest of the cast, besides Julianne Michelle’s outstanding performance, were really fantastic too. Well written and thoughtful, this film I think is great to augment hope for women everywhere
