If you feel like wasting your time for 22 minutes go ahead.
Another reviewer is criticizing reviewers from three years ago that they had to do some research about Bagboy, that it was a Brule special, or whatever. To me it doesn’t matter what kind of special it was, and yes I don’t know Brule and I honestly don’t care, as this short movie is just dumb. Silly humor okay, at least once in awhile, but this is just beyond silly. I did like John C. Reilly in Step Brothers but I wonder what he was thinking agreeing to play in Bagboy. The only positive thing about Bagboy is that it is really short so you only waste your time for 22 minutes.

The jingle is awesome, but that’s it
“Bagboy” is a 23-minute live action short film from last year (2015). It was directed by the people known as Tim & Eric from Adult Swim and with this work here they continue their long collaboration with Oscar nominee John C. Reilly. He plays the character of Dr. Steve Brule, but apparently things aren’t going too well for him as he got degraded to the job of a bagboy at the local supermarket. We find out about his crush on a cashier, his rival for her affection and the young woman’s brother, who turns out to be a shop lifter. Sounds pretty dramatic so far, but if you know Brule, you know that it is all about the comedy in here. Reilly is still probably the best of the bunch, but that doesn’t mean much as everybody else is very forgettable really. No surprise this pilot episode did not get picked for for a series, or even one season. So yeah, that’s all I can say about this one we have here. I am a bit disappointed because I like Reilly usually, but he is also only as good as the material/people that he is working with and this is not top-notch here for sure. I give it a thumbs-down and even if this had been turned into a show, I would have no interest in watching. The audience clapping and making sounds gets repetitive quickly (even if it’s just a spoof) and same can be said about the characters’ constant interactions with the camera. Don’t watch. It’s not particularly funny at all.
