Watch: Barbie Fairytopia: Mermaidia 2006 123movies, Full Movie Online – Right after the events that took place in Barbie: Fairytopia, Elina, the wingless, yet, brave flower fairy, having recently defeated the Enchantress’ wicked sister, the mischievous Laverna, finally receives as a gift a precious set of sparkling wings to fly free in the skies. But soon, Elina will find out that Nalu, her merman friend and Prince of the Merfolk, has been unfortunately abducted by the banished Laverna’s subordinates, three ruthless Fungi who threaten to pollute the sea unless he accepts to disclose the exact location of the powerful “Immunity Berry”, a magical fruit that would inevitably make her the invulnerable ruler of all Fairytopia. However, in the difficult task of finding Prince Nalu, and above all, saving the peaceful Fairytopia from evil Laverna’s clutches, Elina with the help of her pet-friend Bibble, will need to join forces with another mermaid, the reluctant Nori, and put their differences aside if they want to succeed. An Unexpected Great
I’ll admit that I was a little skeptical when I saw the title. I started watching with the worst expectations. But from the very first moment, upon seeing this vibrant world that had been created, I was engaged.

This is an incredibly simple story that still, somehow, avoids talking down to its young viewership. The visual aspect of the movie is strong, with bright colors and a fairy-tale brilliance that is strong above- and below-water. Characters often proved to be expressive both visually and aurally, as animators captured realistic emotions and actors used complex character voices. Elina is voiced by Kelly Sheridan, who manages to make a rich, elegant voice sound youthful. Lee Tockar provides much of the humor of the movie with his slapstick deliveries of Bibble and Fungus 1 and 2, which are perfectly matched with more fantastic animation of expression.

All in all, this movie showed a great creativity for it’s type that was not limited by the Barbie formula. Dialogue often garnered laughs from adults as well as children, and both were engaged by the classic fairy-tale world that was the backdrop for the story. All in all, this was a movie that children would watch over and over again. Don’t discount it as I did, and after you’ve seen and enjoyed it, talk about it to your friends! It’s a shame that it hasn’t received the attention it deserves.

pleasantly surprised
This was my first Barbie video. Going in I had very low expectations, but I ended up being pleasantly surprised by what I saw as a pretty feminist plot. Barbie is the hero and rescues the prince. She is not the helpless woman of most stories. She makes a sacrifice for a friend. It also encourages girls not to be jealous of each other and that boys and girls can be just friends. Further more, the girls are rewarded for their bravery. The Barbie fairy also uses her intelligence to trick the bad woman. Perhaps this is silly, but I also appreciated that the bad character was a woman wanting power. So often the stereo type of a “bad” character is a power hungery man. The characters did look and sound super girly, but over all I think it had good a good message…then again I expected very little. I think Disney should be taking notes.
