A fancy bottle of brandy, bought as a gift, has some nasty side effects.
As much of a fan of straight to video fare as I am, I have to admit, I usually approach them with incredibly low expectations. However, I was pleasantly surprised with this one. It’s a little slow in the beginning, but that’s OK, because it’s time spent getting to know the very likable leads. The acting is a little overwrought is a few areas, (particularly from the main vampire) which is to be expected in low budget indies, but for the most part, the performances were spot on, the story never boring, and it looked great. And it was nice seeing Goths portrayed positively for a change.This was time well spent, and I will definitely be looking forward to more from Doom Bunny Films.

HAPPY TWENTY-FIRST BIRTHDAY
The film opens with a goth chick killing a vampire, then smoking a cigarette. Then it goes back to several months earlier, but the film never returns to the initial scene.

Andrea Rollin (Melissa Johnson) is the goth chick we see in the first scene. She is now a student at unnamed college and still lives in the dorm after several years promoting Doom Bunny Products. She is joined as a roommate by her high school friend Brandy (Lora Meins) who looks normal. After over a half hour of boring small talk, Brandy is inadvertently turned into a vampire by chugging some special brandy. Hey, It happen to the best of us.

Becoming a vampire requires a shower with full frontal nudity. Those are the rules Brandy. Thanks.
