Abhishek does a fine job of getting under Skin of Bob.

The story build up at start but again it scatters all over.

Towards end picks up pace & ends on a decent note.

BGM & Cinematography deserves applause.

Overall a good spin-off!! Maybe first in Bollywood.

Bob biswas is a crime drama thriller film directed by diya annapurna ghosh. Here are the positives and negatives:

Performances-abhishek bacchan has done a fabulous job. He has the charm and the innocence that the character required. Chitrangada singh was a delight to watch after so long. The kids were good. The supporting cast is fabulous. Starting from rajatava dutta to paran bandopadhyay, everyone has done a wonderful work.

Characters-after completing the film, one thing that audience will remember is the characters. Be it abhishek as bob or the character of dhonu or the best of the lot, paran sir as kali da. This man is a bengali acting legend. His bengali hindi accent to his mannerisms everything was so charming to see.

Music and sound design-one of the finest and unique music albums. To support a film like this you need to have some unique music and the film has that. ‘Mujhko mujhse kaun bachayega’ by kk is my personal favourite. ‘Tu toh gaya’ sung by bianca gomes is some top quality jazz music. The sound design too is very good. Just look at how the bgm stops at multiple sequences just before a sparkling moment.

Dark humour-the killing sequences will give you some dark humour of top quality. The way bob does those killings is ghastly but you cannot stop laughing at those sequences. And ably supported by the music as well.

Some vfx effects-the vfx effects of blood sequences in the final sequence was jarring to me. Blood splashing out was clearly animated.

Lack of tension-the film is good but you don’t feel that tension throughout the film even when bob is in some dire circumstances. Something was missing and you can feel it.

This is not a masterpiece by any account. But it will surely give you some good time. I rate it 8 out of 10.
