A Hidden Giant of a Film
I get the reviewers here who don’t get the touching nature of the presentation of the characters. The apparent limited warmth between the family members, called “salt taste” by one of the reviewers here, is Basque. I’d say that’s the way they appear to us outsiders, that this is look into what makes the Basque culture unique is revealing.

I found the film visually stunning, the characters facinating, deep and wonderfully challenging to get to know. Here, a faithfully Basque presentation.

Yep, This is a Really Tall Man
(Flash Review)

Out of a poor, Spanish farming family, in the mid-1800s, grows a man. A very tall man. Even past age 20 he won’t stop growing. He reaches such heights that his brother tours him on the road and eventually to America as income from curious individuals pours in. While this drives the story, the meat comes from the relationship between the two brothers and their physical differences as well as their future dreams. The tall gent also wrestles with his emotions of being a spectacle with his brother focused on dollars. Overall, this has high quality shot framing while dramatic lighting and color provide emotional insights to scenes. The pace was a little lethargic and the drama slow to build; a quiet film.
