pay no mind to the rating. this movie is quirky and good.
pay no mind to the low rating. this movie is quirky and good. I like the couple. And I like the back story to the house. Cliché but good. That old man made me think of Scary movie 2, but that’s not meant as a slight to this film. You can see they made the best of their budget and those eye things look pretty ominous. So, me like. I don’t know why, but I like that it doesn’t do much with lighting to create atmosphere, actually letting all the atmosphere come from suggestion and not some Hollow-wood post edit lighting trick. It has that docu-drama look.

A Gem OF A Movie
I am so glad that I found House Of Thaddeus on Youtube. I love horror films but lately, all the films coming out seem to be torture porn with little in the way of any real storytelling. That is why House Of Thaddeus is so refreshing. It doesn’t rehash previously done movies, it isn’t a sequel of a sequel of a prequel. It is a unique story with decent acting and a riveting storyline. There is also the right amount of tension and atmosphere to keep the viewer on edge.

The ending is interesting. It doesn’t really resolve anything. There is no quick fix or happy ending. The way the movie finishes might leave some viewers dissatisfied, but the filmmakers did not cheat, they showed their story as I am sure, they envisioned it.

The cast, I am not going to go through naming them all, were all excellent, but it is the married couple that buys the house that is the most compelling to watch. Seeing their marriage slowly falling apart is so painful and sad.

It is nice to see films that have a unique story to tell and just another tired slasher-zombie-torture flick.
