Fake Storm!
Everything in the movie was fake. There’s no consistency at all. It started really good but I can’t believe how it turned out to be a bad movie. Emotional parts are not even enough to save the movie. And considering this was a real story, they just wasted it with this movie.
Authentic “1st person” movie
1st Person movies attempt to connect the viewer to the main character so that the experience becomes shared. Properly done, they are brilliant. On my IMDb list of the 160+ most watchable movies of all time I have WOMAN IN THE DUNES (1964) and A MAN ESCAPED (1956). Both are hypnotic and unforgettable. Both drag you into the film and do not let go. In both films there are times you forget to breathe. This film tries hard but is not in that league. However, my list does have MULHOLLAND DRIVE, not only one of the best films of all time, but also Naomi Watts’ most spectacular performance.
