Plot: Since 2015, the Landless Workers Movement has been occupying an indebted sugarcane factory’s land to press for its redistribution through land reform. Grandma, P.C. and their encamped fellows struggle to conquer a small share of land where they can settle down and live a self-sustainable life, growing agro-ecological crops in a newly knit peasant community they draw in their dreams.

Inside one of the most important social movements in the world
Very well done and important documentary about (and inside!) the Landless Workers Movement (MST), one of the most relevant social movements in the world, with wonderful cinematography and meaningful testimonies. It is impressive how politically conscious are its activists in general, mostly with low formal education, and how deep is their political analysis abilily. We can also see in the film their strategies, concerns, hopes… how they deal with religion and gender, how the press and judiciary deal with the movement. It is particularly important to highlight that the documentary has been produced after 2016, under reactionary cabinets led by Michel Temer and, mostly, Jair Bolsonaro. Therefore, policies and public actions against MST have increased, including its criminalization, while land reform became stagnated. A necessary movie.
