Southcott strikes again
After months of Shogun talking the talk, it was now time to see if they walked the walk. Sadly they didn’t! The execution was awful, just as much as the acting and quite frankly Billy Murray deserves better. There were actresses in this film who were head and shoulders above Jeanine Southcott. I struggled to enjoy her involvement as an actress, she lacks the basic facial expressions due to the amount of work she has had done, she should most definitely not be a lead. As far the other actors, it was stated this was Nick Morans career best, it wasn’t! The direction was awful, one example of this is the scene where Murray accepts his cheque. The pan from side shot to front shot was just so amateurish. If you want decent direction then hire a director who is experienced in action, James crow isn’t! And was way out of his depth! Also in this scene Producer Southcott makes an appearance clapping away. To sum up, this was a terrible outing for Shoguns first release. If Southcott wants to be taken seriously, he’s needs better writers and directors for his projects and certainly needs to stop using his wife as a lead. The ending hints at a sequel and by god I’m praying we don’t get one!!!!!
