A different Macbeth…
This movie indeed is remarkable for several reasons. First of all that it was managed to set Shekespeare´s old drama “Macbeth” in our time. I admit that this has worked in quite a couple of movies before. Besides it is really close to the original script, except for a few details (for example the killing of Dean/the king who is originally killed shortly after taking Marcus/Macbeth as his aid). But what is really extraordinary is – in my view – the idea to set the drama in the rave/techno scene and let the whole story take place in only a few hours. And by the way, this is the first rave-movie have ever seen and heard of. Thats the first reason why I have decided to watch it, the second one is that the movie was shot in an existing club in Munich I happen to go to from time to time. The only thing I regret is that there was not more tension. But that might be excused by the fact that Shakespeare´s Macbeth is a drama and not a Hollywood-made action thriller which was remade. So much to my view of Rave Macbeth, a different sort of movie. I can only recommend to see it, especially those who know Macbeth and also like this kind of music.
