Kept me laughing
Sure, the acting isn’t always steady, and the direction sometimes vague. The editing acceptable. But so what? This movie embraces whole-heartedly the world of professional wrestling, including its public face, that of the over-done, over-wrought actor, bleeding for his public. Following the two main characters, people with nothing much in their life besides being wrestling fans, on a quest to help their hero regain his status as numero uno, is really great fun. Why? Because they are true believers, fanatics, and willing to do anything. I haven’t laughed so hard with a movie in a long time. Don’t miss the out-takes during the closing credits, either. They’re worth the price of admission.
