BRAVO! Expertly Executed
I found that “Sincerely Brenda” touches on the sensitive, familiar and painful topic of alcoholism. In some way or another we have all, unfortunately, been affected by the disease whether it be directly or indirectly. The director Kenneth Nelson expertly executed and portrayed the struggles of not only alcoholism and the ability it has to tear a family apart, but also the death of the matriarch which ultimately brings a fractured family back together. Although this isn’t a novel I am hosting a movie night with my bookclub as there is much to discuss after watching.
