Really Nice At First Look, But Too Corny After That
You know, I really liked this movie the first time I saw it. I say that because the second time it wasn’t so hot, and I didn’t even finish it on the third look, trading my DVD to someone for something else. By then, the movie was so sappy, so corny I couldn’t watch it anymore.

I have no complaints looking at the wholesome, pretty women: Jeanne Craine, Vivian Blaine and Fay Bainter make a nice threesome. Craine never looked better, looking like a classic beauty, the ultimate girl-next-door that men would desire. The film as a whole is pretty; with some really nice-looking Technicolor.

However, as wholesome and nice as the people in here are, and as rich as the colors are, the dialog and thinking is so stupid, it’s embarrassing to watch at times. Yes, we get the typical Hollywood romance in which everyone falls in love on their date and instantly wants to get married!! This was just one of many stupid angles and lines by the characters. They were just plain dumb!

Anyway, I rarely knock a wholesome story. I’m a sucker for nice people, but this is too much.
