A Lifetime Jewel of a Film for the Holidays
En route to sign their divorce papers, Harrison and Jane Appleby find themselves trapped in an elevator. This gem of a Lifetime shorty reveals the most cost-effective form of mediation in the history of marital jurisprudence.

The compact, ten-minute film nicely develops the characters of both Harrison and Jane, as they are willing to step into the elevator together in the first place. When the elevator stops, they begin to reminisce about their relationship and obviously find more good to recall than bad.

The film turns on the moment when the Applebys remember the times in the past when they would ask each other about their “Christmas wish.” They realize that three years ago, Harrison stopped asking, and Jane stopped wishing.

It is then that the Harrison pops the question and Jane provides the answer: they wish for a reconciliation as a very compatible couple who need to renew their commitment together. The film demonstrates the power of positive thinking and conciliation that may occur in the most uncomfortable of situations: a malfunctioning elevator!

This film was nicely scored with music that delivered an emotional impact. The holiday music was heard by Harrison and Jane during their long wait, affecting their moods as they reflected on the past. Who would ever believe that elevator music could save a marriage?!!!
