Plot: A world class ice skater eager to take the top prize in the biggest competition around finds his dreams going up in flames after his partner suffers a debilitating injury in this romantic sports drama starring Matt Lanter, Francia Rosa, and Christy Carlson Romano. Zack (Lanter) was headed for the gold when his partner suffered an injury that made competing impossible, but could a feisty female hockey player prove the key to keeping his illustrious career on track? Alexandra is an amateur Latina hockey player who has never skated professionally and doesn’t much care for Zack, though a little determination goes a long way in helping Zack convince her to join him on the ice. Now, as this unlikely pair begins the arduous training process that could make them both bona-fide superstars, the girl with the icy attitude finds her handsome partner’s warmth and charm bringing about a most unexpected thaw.

i expected more
i thought this movie was the weakest of the three movies,mainly because there’s zero tension between the two main characters,and the story isn’t really there.that’s just my opinion,of course.there also isn’t really any excitement,even in the skating sequences.i never really felt invested in the story or the characters.having said all that,i did find the movie passably entertaining,and i never felt bored.Christy Romano(Jackie Dorsey) has a very small role in the film,which is unfortunate.to me,this film had a TV movie feel to it,which isn’t always a bad thing.i just expected more from this movie.it’s not horrible,by any means,,but for me,it’s about average.i give The Cutting Edge 3:Chasing the Dream a 5/10

“Cutting Edge 3: Chasing the Dream” is an ABC original movie that doesn’t fail to entertain but is rather formulated and cliché, especially since the previous two movies in the Cutting Edge series have the same plot: An ice hockey player teaming up with an ice figure skater to win an ice figure skating competition. I personally find it annoying, why can’t the figure skater turn into a hockey player to win the ice hockey championship for a change? Anyways, following the exclusive “Cutting Edge formula,” through their partnership, the players get infatuated to each other, or should I say “fall in love”. The actors were okay, I thought Francia Raisa did a great job acting as the high-headed and aggressive hockey player while Matt Lanter looked good but wasn’t all that interesting. Christy Carlson Romano didn’t have much to do except walk around and look unsatisfied as their coach.
