It’s hard not to enjoy the universe in a “Heavy Metal” kind of way.
The Haunted World of El Superbeasto (2009) is in my DVD collection and I recently watched again for the first time in a long time on Tubi. The storyline follows an aging Mexican wrestler who finds the woman of his dreams in a strip club. Unfortunately for him the devil wants her too and kidnaps her. He will need to work with his super hot Nazi hunting sister to find the Devil’s layer and rescue her. This movie is directed by Rob Zombie (Devil’s Rejects) and contains the voices of Tom Papa (3 From Hell), Sheri Moon Zombie (House of 1,000 Corpses), Dosario Dawson (Sin City), Harland Williams (Half Baked) and Clint Howard (Little Nicky). The storyline for this picture is random and a lot of fun. It’s hard not to enjoy the universe in a “Heavy Metal” kind of way. The animation is excellent. The voices are well selected other than the main character. He was my least favorite character. I thought Rosario Dawson was hilarious in this and I enjoyed the elevator operator, horny robot and stale ape. There’s also some great cameos in this (Sid Haig, Paul Giamatti and Bill Moseley as examples). There’s some fun nudity and horror elements sprinkled in throughout. I enjoy this more than most I think and would score this a 7.5/10 based on entertainment value.
