Based on a True Story…RLY??? This is really pushing the limits of “based on”…where to even begin…..
I am sorry for the families that suffered in the loss of life in this true ordeal. Now some pathetic people have made a “movie” that makes a mockery of a tragic event. Shameful release!

If this movie was called ‘The Haunting of Karen Slate’, it just would be another terrible On Demand/DTV movie that I come across numerous times a year (many distributed by Lionsgate), but taking a real-life event, and one involving brutal murders, takes it to another level. This was just awful with a confusing plot, horrible dialogue, pedestrian direction (putting it kindly) and bad acting, particularly on Hillary Duff’s part.

If it weren’t so disrespectful to the families involved, I would find part of this to be unintentionally funny, but can’t even give it that much.

I know the Razzies are a joke, but this one deserves all the hate that has come its way. This is one that should’ve remained on the dusty shelves in some nondescript basement office, or better yet, destroy the prints.

I just hope younger people realise there is no truth in this account of sharon tate’s murder. while it has been said she had visions or dreams beforehand that is the only semi truth in this movie. facts are distorted beyond belief. it goes into some rubbish about how our decisions control our fate and we can somehow change that. this seem pretty disrespectful to her family also. makes her out to be a bit crazy. it’s an okay movie but twists history way out of all proportion so should not be taken seriously.

First of all Tate and the others were murdered by the Manson mob, the only part you see that is when Tate lifts the blanket of one of the dead to see herself, hence the title The ‘haunting’ of Sharon Tate, obviously the filmmakers wanted to change the story to a happy ending when they attackers were all put to rest and Tate and friends survived the horrific attack in 1969, Of which sadly they didn’t. It’s a attempt to make a successful film from a awful story by changing the facts, surprises as others why they did it, it does smack of disrespect to the family, I meant you wouldn’t change the facts of the holocaust to dumb done history to make a film more acceptable to a audience would you ? Anyway, I would avoid it now knowing what they did at the end, it’s a basically a fantasy based on a true story, not.
