Bad acting and disappointing. Just watch the first again
This movie is pretty bad. The main character is not believable. The writing is still and the acting is so bad he might as well be holding the script. His “issues” are so cliche — listens to loud music, loud and rude, etc. And yet he has some moments of compassion that don’t line up with that caricature. Overall, the characters in this movie are flat like cardboard. No dimension to them. Other characters serve little purpose in the plot. I watched the first 30 minutes and gave up on the movie. Usually if a movie is bad I still watch it through because the plot is just enough to hold my attention. This one started with no questions asked and the storyline was predictable. It’s disappointing because the first movie “The Ultimate Gift” was so much better, one I would list as a “must see movie”. This one is a hard pass…

No free leg from V.A. for wounded vet ?
Acting, directing, editing were impressive. So was a very original script.

Now, correct me if I’m wrong… but I tuned in about midstream, and it seems they were raising funds to get a war amputee a prosthetic leg? As pathetique as the V. A. is in providing timely medical care, they do still give such casulties free treatment. A visitor also came in the V. A. med center and undertook to start the vet’s physical therapy based on his own ideas, as if the V. A. hadn’t even thought of that. This blew the film off course from my perspective.

But great values and stirring situations rendered a watchable film.
