Synopsis

Watch: Tulips in Spring 2016 123movies, Full Movie Online – Rose Newell (Fiona Gugelman), the daughter of the owners of Payden Farms, returns home to find that the farm is in financial trouble and her parents may be forced to sell. She meets Tom Novak (Lucas Bryant), the handsome local “flower broker”, for whom she begins to have romantic feelings. A final effort to save the farm is engineered by Tom when he arranges for Frank (Kevin McNulty), Rose’s father, to enter his prize blooms in a contest. When the flowers are sabotaged, Rose must attempt to salvage the situation and get more flowers to bloom, while facing decisions of the heart with Tom, resolving issues with her father, and choosing to return to her life in Los Angeles or stay on her family’s farm..
Plot: At Payden Farms, Rose meets Tom Novak — a handsome “flower broker” who acts as a liaison between the farm and local distributors — and discovers that the farm is faltering financially and that her parents are considering selling it to a ruthless competitor. As a last-ditch effort, Tom arranges for Frank to enter his most special tulip in an upcoming flower contest with the hopes of achieving national recognition and generating business. But when Frank’s flowers are mysteriously sabotaged, Rose struggles to find a way to get them to bloom in time for the competition. Along the way, she finds herself appreciating her humble beginnings, reconciling with Frank, and falling into a blossoming romance with Tom. With time running out, Rose must rediscover her green thumb to save her family’s farm, and decide whether she’ll find true happiness — and true love — by staying in Los Angeles or returning to her folksy hometown.

Hallmark at it’s VERY best
This has to be my most favourite Hallmark movie (and I have watched a lot!). I wish I could give it more stars!!

The main story arc and the sub plots of this movie are all amazing and fit so well together.

I don’t think I have watched Fiona Gubelmann (who acts as Rose) before but I was impressed with her fantastic acting skills. Many other Hallmark lead actresses should take a leaf from her page and learn that to be attractive, they do not need to smile 95% of the movie – which frankly, is sickening to the point of diabetes.

I also really like the character development of Rose as a person. She is independent enough to strike out on her own but knows where her roots are. At the start she gives this epic fail speech to the crew but within minutes, we see her so loved by the family client. She is neither an unnaturally raving success nor is she a failure. She is a real character we can all relate to. It was lovely to watch her talk to the tulip she planted – something about planting it with friends to encourage it to grow. I would say however, that her work skirts are absurdly short for any woman who wants to be taken seriously in a work place.

Lucas Bryant is an equally amazing actor. I watched him in ‘Summer Love’ where he was also incredible as the romantic lead actor. He is so attractive with an even mix of rugged and urban. If I had to dream up a boyfriend, it would be very much like him! Hunk is really the right word to describe him. I wish he would appear in more Hallmark movies! As Tom, he is ethical and reliable. The man of the show literally.

Together, their chemistry in this movie is off the charts!! The way they looked at each other and the kiss on the porch. WOW. The longing, the tentativeness, the dialogue so well delivered. Best Hallmark kiss I have seen in a very long time.

And I love their dialogue throughout the show. After watching shows like Flip that Romance where the dialogue between the two leads was so toxic, the conversation between Rose and Tom in this show is beautiful. They gently tease each other with no quarrelsome note and no attempt to one up each other. Unlike the leads in Hometown holiday, Rose and Tom have really deep and meaningful conversations and when they talk with each other, you get the sense that these are two adults having a respectful but heartfelt dialogue where they really get to know each other, where they come from and who they are.

Thank goodness there was no petty and childish misunderstanding in this movie. And since I have had enough of scenes where one cleans a stain off the other persons face as part of a scriptwriters absurd attempt at closeness, I thought it was brilliant that when Tom pointed out that Rose had a stain on her face, instead of reaching in and cleaning it off himself, she made a second stain on the other cheek and he just laughed it off like it was so adorable but he knew it wasn’t for him to touch her face at that point in time. And she did not throw a hissy fit when she must have realised it – phew.

Near the end of the show, Tom comes up and wraps Rose up tightly in his arms. Omg, we gals should all be so lucky! And she does what we would love to do, snuggle into his arms hahaha. The tenderness between them is so real and something we all aspire to if we haven’t already found it in our own lives.

Then there is the sub plot between Rose and her father. That is a relationship we watch healing before our eyes and it is a thing of beauty to watch. A real tear jerker actually, especially when her father tells her how proud he is of her in the hot house and she breaks down and cries – that was a really convincing moment by the way, kudos to Fiona Gubelmann! For any of us who have a strained relationship with a parent, this show would appeal to us on that level.

And Rose’s parents are completely inspiring to watch. The love they have for each other comes across really beautifully. They really live up to the marriage vows of ‘for better or worse, in sickness and in health.’ Through the uncertainty of losing their tulip farm and with his broken leg, their love endures and flourishes. Watching them makes me want to believe in marriage again!

If you only have time to watch one Hallmark movie, I respectfully suggest you watch this one. I absolutely loved it from start to finish.
