Surprisingly Watchable
As a parent I’ve endured more than my fair share of horrid C-Grade movies. This isn’t one of them…it’s definitely a high B which could almost border on an A.

The animation is very high quality as is the English voice acting – this surprised me a lot given it’s originally a German language production which was also recorded in English (if I hadn’t of known this going into the cinema I wouldn’t have picked it up). The script is well above average and while the story is definitely light-on compared to a Disney or Pixar production it’s absolutely watchable.

Much better than it seems like it should be
Me and my parents sat down and watched this movie voluntarily as adults. I was delighted by the fact that I could predict the main three plot points about fifteen minutes before they each took place. It might very well be an excellent script, but I can’t really explain why… The voice acting is good and I like the animation. But we has just come off watching “John Carter,” so that kind of tells you the mindset that we were in. 😀

I — of sound body and mind — honestly, really enjoyed it.
