I knew there was a What a Women Want reboot in the works, and my interest was **zero**.
I heard they were flipping the script a la genders, and it was still zee – row.
Cast Taraji P. Henson in the lead and I was like: “Fuck… I’m gonna have to watch this now aren’t I?”
And so I did. But I probably shouldn’t have.
_Final rating:★½: – Boring/disappointing. Avoid where possible._
Good watch, could watch again, and can recommend.
While it’s potentially problematic for many of the same reasons for the Mel Gibson “What Women Want”, I think this is a much better version, and a good modernization. It’s also a good way to shift it to a “black movie”.
Taraji P. Henson does an excellent job carrying the movie and it is full of good humor, and exciting moments.
The movie does send a little bit of a mixed message as it seems to indicate that a woman needs to be a man in order to play in a man’s world, but it feels more like its about it not being a man’s world.
This is a good time, my only concern is that she’s not a very likable character at the start of the movie.
Nothin’ like Mel Gibson’s great movie “What Women Want”
Flat out this movie was too gross to appreciate the infrequent funny lines. This is about a nasty female in corporate America. I was surprised and disappointed in Taraji taking on this kind of low-class role. For me there was nothing at all entertaining about this movie and it ticked me off seeing another portrayal of this type of woman. I’m trying to think of something to say about the movie, but I can’t. It had nothing in it to make it stand out. It was silly and portrayed the ugly, nasty side of some women today. Ultra formula comedy and a waste of film, imo. Gosh, I really dislike it when they put out trash like this…as you can probably tell.
They had the story if they would have just followed it
Here is what I don’t understand, you have a good movie. You got a good idea change the gender. Great now just copy the orginal movie. It would have been funny. Instead we get only about 10 minutes of her hearing the man thoughts and they decided not to have any fun with that power. I thought the actor was sfine. Just the direction l, the writing and the whole new story line was poor. Man they could had so much fun with this movie. But just like the movie about last night they failed missirrrably
