Entertaining!
I enjoyed Pennyworth a lot more than I expected I would. A show based off Batman’s butler didn’t really seem that exciting but I couldn’t have been more wrong. This isn’t Alfred the butler, this is Alfred the soldier/spy. The cast all do a great job, especially Jack Bannon who plays Alfred. He just makes Alfred so damn likable. It has the look and feel of a good 60’s spy series. Everything from the cinematography to the wardrobe. They are now on season 3 and each season has been just as entertaining as the others. I’m glad HBO Max picked this up so it’s available to a larger audience because this show deserves it.

One of the best shows on TV
This series has only grown better and better with each season. The acting is excellent and the storylines gripping. They also realise that no matter how grim life gets, there is always humour somewhere. Which gives excellent contrast to the often incredibly dark plot. Other, ‘Big’ shows really need to learn this and not be so perpetually grim.

Jack Bannon is excellent in the roll and I hope it gets much more work in the future. And hopefully Paloma Faith decides that acting is for her because her role is just excellent and I love watching her on screen.

Just to add to the drama, the insane set design set in the late 50s/60s adds dramatic contrast to the whole show, which right now everyone should be watching.
