Recommended to me by Netflix as a “99% match.” Found it to be over-acted, writing super on the nose and characters universally insufferable. Couldn’t even get through the first episode.

I dismissed this as overly broad and unfunny while it was on TV, a friend of mine has awful taste and she raved about it. Turns out Kylie was right. This series has so much heart, it’s rarely if ever mean and each subsequent season gets funnier and funnier.

It grows on you!
I had a hard time getting into it with the first couple episodes, but after learning about the characters it really gets good. I really enjoy it a lot. It’s just a fun show to binge!! And Dan Levy (David)makes the show!!!

A true gem of a show
Schitt’s Creek is a show that grows on you. It’s worth the investment and time. It doesn’t take the standard or corny path but is grounded in realism. We see the Rose family grow as people yet at the same time still hold on to some of the quirks they had from the beginning. Schitt’s Creek is also a town full of eccentric and amusing characters that test them in so many ways. Not only does the whole family grow they also enhance the lives of those around them like Stevie, Roland, Jocelyn and Patrick. As the show comes full circle we don’t see a hallmark style type of ending where everyone gets together and everyone’s a winner but a more realistic outcome and story arc’s for the characters. The enduring romantic relationship between David and Patrick became the heart of the show due to its authentic pace and a truly believable romance. Great writing, themes and acting in this great show. The essence of the show wasn’t a simple transformation of selfishness to empathy but more than that. The family discovered the best versions of themselves which also brought out the best in others they dealt with. This gem is worth a watch.
