“When’s day”
So when’s that day??? When we will rise like phoenix from the ashes…….

So cutting it out to the movie……..

First lets talk about the movie…… Movie per se is too good and I was moved by the very idea of the movie. As i am not checking the spoiler box, I must be brief……Though the movie is incomparable and nothing can be said without exposing the plot. Now I can easily say that Bollywood is showing some of its traits that can be compared to a Hollywood movie. The idea of the movie is among the best I have ever seen. This movie should go for Oscars not involving any kind of politics this time.

Lets see what can be said about the components of the movie, to start with we have 2 of the greatest Bollywood actor in the movie and chosen aptly for the roles. The four terrorists are chosen correctly for the role and also their getup is quite nice and appropriate. In the acting department only Deepal Shaw has shown some weakness, otherwise all the actors for big and small roles have shown their skills. Screenplay is good with too many story running simultaneously at the start of the movie. Cinematography is also fine with the scenes on the road, from the streets and all, also appreciable amount of money has been spent on it too. Background score is a bit too loud but some may find it appropriate but its not…..Editing is nice enough as the coherence is evident in the movie. Now what ….. the king of all …… Mr Niraj, the director of the movie, he has done a great job by managing all the accoutrement on his back and using the right card at the right time………This movie has an effect and is generally followed by a deep thinking…….. “When there’s a match between India and Pakistan…..and when India loses … ESPN & STAR SPORTS are not blamed” It simply says that stop blaming the accessory, take the responsibility of failure, then only you deserve the accolades.

About those who have lost
I admit it was refreshing to finally see an Indian film devoid of any dancing, singing or general cavorting around. What A Wednesday is instead is a crime thriller where a retiring police commissioner commiserates about a past case where a nameless man held a whole city hostage, demanding the satisfaction owed to him.

The plot itself is not overly complex. You can probably tell about how it’s going to go if you’re familiar with this genre of thrillers. Although I do admit that the criminal’s final motive for his deeds was a refreshing turn from the norm.

Rather it’s the acting that elevates this film above most of its peers. Anupam Kher as the commissioner and especially Naseeruddin Shah as the nameless criminal both give powerful performances. Whenever the camera focuses on their faces and they’re allowed to speak, the film’s quality takes a massive leap upwards.

That being said, the film’s message and its tone towards the actions of Shah’s character can be seen as somewhat controversial. They’re nothing new to Indian films, which have a habit of being rather outspoken against the government and its perceived uselessness. Still, it’s a bit odd to see a film take such a stance against these kinds of actions.

A powerful film. Very well acted, very well told. Not the flashiest film you’ve ever seen. Some might even call it a bit dull-looking. But it’s simply making room for what it’s trying to say. Well worth a watch if you’re looking for a different kind of Indian film making.
